Director- Sales- Japan

Our IT client company is looking for a seasoned sales professional who is well experienced in Japanese market to lead the sales and business development initiatives in Japan. The primary focus of this role would be to generate new business by identifying and closing business for the company's portfolio of product and services offering. The suitable person must possess the foresight to set quarterly targets and meet them. Creativity and vision will be exercised continuously by the person to unearth and handle new business deals. The role would consist of the following functions:

1. Direct and coordinate Business Development, sales and marketing functions.
2. Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology.
3. Direct and oversee the marketing function to identify and develop new Japanese customers for software solutions and onshore placements of engineers.
4. Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project development.
5. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results.
6. Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of internal operating budgets.
7. Plan and coordinate public affairs, and communications efforts, to include public relations and community outreach.
8. Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts, and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
9. Participate in the development of new project proposals.
10. Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
11. Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials.
12. Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote Network Programs in Japanese market.
13. Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
14. Work with department managers and corporate staff to develop five year and ten year business plans for Network Programs.
15. Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
16. Serve on planning and policy-making discussion meetings.
17. Other duties as assigned.
 
Ideal candidate should be:

ï Plugged into the engineering organizations of semiconductors companies as well as computer & Communication Systems companies
ï Prior experience in selling embedded system design services OR a chip design service
ï 10+ years of industry experience and a successful track record with target accounts
ï Change management expertise that will result in a solution-selling model at a    strategic/business and partner level
ï Evidence of success establishing and cultivating business relationships with 'VP' and 'C' level executives
ï Proven experience dealing with complex business and software development processes and issues within the OEM environment
ï Demonstrated ability to recommend appropriate solutions
ï Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
ï Technical and/or business related degree
ï Must be able to handle office and operate independently
ï Should have been working in Japan for past 3 years and be fluent in Japanese language.
ï Should be carrying a sales quota of USD 1 million/year
ï Background of selling Embedded Services is preferable
