A senior level auditor (VP) for the new Tokyo Regulatory Audit Team established within the Group Audit Department which will cover all entities in Japan. This team will be working very closely with the Audit team with a focus on local laws and regulations.
Main responsibilities of the Regulatory Audit Team will be:
- Perform risk based reviews focusing on local laws and regulations
- Follow-up on regulatory issues
- Perform, assist or support adhoc / targeted reviews, regulatory themed reviews or lessons learnt analysis
- Perform regulatory required / mandated audits
Candidate will be tasked with the co-ordination, dynamic planning, risk assessment and execution of the responsibilities outlined above
Assist in developing local regulatory audit plans and risk control libraries for the Japan legal entities to address specific local regulatory requirements
Work with the businesses and control groups to identify, assess risk and formulate plans of action driven by changes in regulatory environment
Requirements and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree
- Over 5 years of audit experience in the financial industry
- Ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of Japanese regulations / Compliance and exposure to auditing Investment Banking products
- Experience with Japanese regulatory or other inspections / investigations is preferable but not essential
- Strong Japanese communication skills (verbal and written) and business level English required
