Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) Corporation, our mother company, bought Nanox Japan on 1987, a company concentrating on research and manufacture of small and medium size LCD. Due to continuous effort on technology development and production management, Nanox's reputation of reliable quality, quick delivery, and competitive price are widely recornized. On June 15, 1999, Nanox Philippines Inc. was established at IE-5 Clark Premiere Industrial Park M.A. Roxas Highway, Clark Freeport Zone, Clarkfield, Pampanga, with a total initial investment of 90 Million pesos, the company occupies 15000 square meters and has a total lot area of 1.5 hectares.
The company presently produces two products - Active and Passive Liquid Crystal Display. The company comprises of 3 production lines: Production 1 (Passive Production), Production 2 (Active Production:TFT Module), and Production 3 (Active Production:TFT Cell).
The company's first production started on March 2000, concentrating on the production of Passive Liquid Crystal Display and Chip-On-Glass to meet the growing demands in the world market. Passive LCD and COG plays as the most convenient indication device used in office automation equipment (facsimiles, copiers, printers), communication equipment (telephones, mobile phones, pagers), and wide range of measuring instruments.
The company then started producing SML (Selfoc Micro Lens) on February 2001. Micro lenses are ideal for many signal transmission and focusing applications. The SML enhances the capabilities of optical fiber communication by providing high coupling efficiency and low insertion loss. SML is more economical and convenient for any optical design and application compared to other conventional optical glass products. However, due to global economic trends encountered, production shutdown of this product was experienced on June 2001.
Another product line manufactured by the company is the Active Liquid Crystal Display or Thin Fim Transistor (TFT). Actual production of TFT products was on July 2001. TFT is a kind of flat panel display product with additional features such as colored display, compact size, low power consumption, and high resolution. The use of TFT has dramatically replaced the application of conventional CRT's (cathode ray tube) in consumer electronics, computers, and communication terminals.
